Over the past weekend @Han and I visited Altrincham Market. We’ve heard good things about Altrincham Market and with it being so local decided to pop down.
The market is open throughout the week but is closed on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. Each day of the week has a different ‘theme’ or type of produce available to purchase. The market is as traditional as can be. You can wander around a maze of stalls offering all kinds of homemade products. Best of all, this is all done to live music played by one of the local artists.
The market house is open from Tuesday though until Sunday. This was our favorite part with a host of different food and drink vendors on offer. Inside, the stalls surround rows of tables where food and drink is served to. You really get a feel of being thrown back in time inside the market house.
Here’s some of the snaps we took from our day out at Altrincham Market.
Altrincham Market is surrounded by niche places to eat and drink. Whilst the market hall itself is the center of the action, its concept sprawls out to the local shops surrounding it.
Local independent food, drink and craft shops can be found dotted about the market area. Perfect if you choose to visit later on in the evening.
Altrincham Market has two areas, the market and market house. You will find local produce and product in the market and independent food and drink in the market house.
Finally, the food and drink is one of the highlights and the market house has a retro feel. This was built in the late 1800’s. It inspires you to wonder just what it was like when bustling with trade after it was originally built.
