It’s always nice to have some inspiration to hand when looking to improve your health and fitness. There’s a whole cyber world out there of motivating, inspiring and thought-provoking blogs to choose from. To make things easier for you, here’s my recommendations of the best fitness blogs to follow…
Carrots ‘N’ Cake
Carrots ‘N’ Cake is a blog ran by Tina Haupert. Tina’s blog is focused around staying fit, eating well and living a generally healthy life. Being a wife and mother, Tina offers some really good advice about finding balance through moderation.
Tina’s advice is really practical. She seems to understand that life is busy and achieving balance is hard. Carrots ‘N’ Cake is especially good for those on the go with busy schedules.
Fitness on Toast
Fitness on Toast is a health and fitness blog ran by Faya Nilsson, a half-Swedish half-English personal trainer. Originally starting out small and personal, Faya’s blog has now grown into one of the biggest health and fitness blogs out there.
You can expect a variety of posts from Fitness on Toast. They range form health and fitness, to food, fashion and lifestyle posts. Faya’s blog is growing rapidly and she also has a new book out off the back of it. If you’re looking for a more luxurious, upmarket but informative blog, this is for you.
Barbell Shrugged is a bit more of a niche blog or ‘vlog’. Originally a Podcast started by Mike, Doug and Chris – Who sadly passed last year – barbell shrugged has gone from strength to strength (excuse the pun). It is predominantly focused around functional fitness and strength training with ‘knowledge bombs’ dropped all over their posts.
The guys here really know their stuff. Taking a scientific approach to learning and breaking ti down for the everyday man is their specialty. The team has now grown in size and they offer specific fitness programmes alongside their traditional podcast. A great one for if you’re a Crossfit or functional fitness enthusiast.
Roman Fitness Systems
Roman Fitness Systems has been around for some time now. However, that doesn’t stop it from being just as good as anything else out there. John Romaniello runs the blog and puts out some great articles across the spectrum of scientifically backed workouts, healthy recipes, lifestyle articles and business advice.
The writing style is really cool – almost conversational – but very engaging. It really is a go to place for all kinds of advice, ideas and fitness related content. You can learn a lot and also apply some pretty complex principles to your own life through Roman Fitness’ interpretation. A good, well established fitness source.
Father Fitness is a blog ran by Paul Stainthorpe. It outlines Paul’s journey from becoming a first-time Father to regaining his fitness. The blog is all about how Paul wants to be a fit and active dad, setting good examples for his kids whilst maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
Father Fitness is a really holistic blog with a warming personal touch. It covers such a wide range of topics and approaches fitness in a variety of ways. Paul is also involved in a lot of charity work and health and fitness programmes. It’s a really good read for those looking to regain their fitness or just looking for ways to build fitness into their lives.
Hopefully one of these blogs will interest you. They’re just m recommendations but may inspire your healthy and fitness journey.
