Last Saturday I headed out to meet a friend in Manchester. We went for food and a couple of drinks at one of my favourite places, Solita’s Manchester. We went to the Northern Quarter restaurant, although they have restaurants dotted about the North West. I love it and here’s why…
So, Solita stands for South of Little Italy. The restaurant is located on Turner Street which is smack in the middle of the Northern Quarter. This makes it pretty easy to get to on foot and also prime location for bars to visit afterwards.
Solita’s Manchester, Northern Quarter is split on two levels. The upstairs has quite a bar food feel to it whereas the downstairs, whilst still relaxed, is more traditional tables and booths.
Whilst small from the outside it is actually quite deceptive and a good size venue when you go in. There is outdoor seating just across the road in a beer garden for the warmer summer months!
The Food & Drink
Solita’s Manchester, Northern Quarter serves amazing food!
They serve modern, US-style dishes an indoor barbecue and charcoal oven. Dishes range from Grilled meats and Seafood to Sharing Platters and American style burgers with an abundance of sides. It’s worth saying that the desserts are equally as indulgent and incredible!
Keeping within the American theme, Solita’s Manchester offer a range of drinks. You can get some really good craft beers, more traditional draught (Boston Lager is good) or American & Italian favourites. There’s even a few cider options.
For those who aren’t beer fans, they offer a good choice of wines (yes ladies, Prosecco as well) and tons of cocktails. There are even mocktails for those driving or not drinking alcohol.
Solita’s Manchester, isn’t necessarily the healthiest place you’ll eat, but that’s not the point. Whilst the menu does have healthy options, I wouldn’t go here looking to count calories. It’s a place to go and really enjoy yourself, with good food, drink and friends.
On The Whole
If you’re in the Manchester area, Solita’s is a must. Even if you are just in the North West, a visit to another of their restaurants is worth it. If you are a party of less than 6 it’s just a case of walking in and getting seated. For parties of 6-10 Solita’s Manchester now taking bookings!
In addition, they also have a Deliveroo service running now. This means that if you’re being really lazy you can get Solita’s delivered right to your front door!
So, if you’re looking for incredibly tasty food in a cool environment Solita’s Manchester is a good option. Just remember to wear some forgiving trousers!
